The CC-Link IE Field Basic protocol is a communication protocol that uses general Ethernet technology and is suitable for small devices. It has low cost, ease of use and convenient development. It is widely used in automobile manufacturing, 3C, mechanical processing, food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, electricity, water, textile, logistics, smart home, new energy and other industries. Solidot Technology products support the CC-Link IEF Basic protocol, including slice I/O coupler XB6-CB2002ST, integrated I/O CB4, bus valve island C2S-CB, C2P-CB and other series of products, providing users with a wealth of choices.
However, in actual applications, remote I/O devices may encounter communication failures such as input points not being able to read values, output points not being able to output, and coupler indicator lights flashing. In the face of these problems, the first task is to confirm whether the remote station communication status is normal. At this time, the diagnostic function of the CC-Link IEF Basic protocol is particularly important, which can help users quickly locate communication problems and improve troubleshooting efficiency. The following is an introduction to the fault diagnosis process:
First, Open the diagnostic page
1. Connect GX Works3 to the CPU module of the master station
2. Start CC-Link IE Field Network Basic diagnostics
3. [Diagnostics] → [CC-Link IEF Basic diagnostics]
Second, view diagnostic information through the diagnostic page
1. Communication status monitoring: It can monitor in real time whether the communication between each site in the network is normal, such as whether there is communication interruption, delay, etc.
2. Site status diagnosis: It can clearly display the working status of each site, such as whether the site is online, whether there is a fault, etc.
3. Error code prompt: When a problem occurs, a specific error code will be provided to quickly locate the fault type, such as communication line fault code, site module fault code, etc.
Third, determine the status of the slave station
The three states of the slave station can be determined through diagnostic information
1. Undetermined: Communication with the master station is not determined
2. Transmitting: Cyclic transmission
3. Disconnected: Disconnected from the master station
Among them, "Undetermined" and "Disconnected" are abnormal states, and the actual status of the slave station needs to be checked.
Fourth, how to troubleshoot the slave device in the "Undetermined" state
The current state is "Undetermined" from the diagnostic information, indicating that the master station cannot access the slave station for some reason. The following points need to be checked:
1. Whether the slave station IP set in the configuration is in the same network segment as the master station, and whether the subnet mask is consistent
2. Whether the slave station IP is effective, whether there is any conflict, etc.
3. Whether the switch has port isolation, or whether there is a forwarding ability/capacity problem, etc.
4. Whether there is a problem with the communication cable, whether the crystal head and the network port are incompatible
5. Whether the PLC firmware version is appropriate
6. Whether there are multiple master stations in the same network segment
Fifth, how to troubleshoot problems with slave devices in the "disconnecting" state
The inspection ideas for the "disconnecting" state and the above-mentioned "uncertain" state are similar. The "disconnecting" state usually indicates problems with the hardware device connection. Focus on checking the first four items:
1. Whether the slave IP set in the configuration is in the same network segment as the master station, and whether the subnet mask is consistent
2. Whether the slave IP is effective, whether there is any conflict, etc.
3. Whether the switch has port isolation, or whether there is a forwarding capability/capacity problem, etc.
4. Whether there is a problem with the communication cable, and whether the crystal head and the network port are incompatible
