Examples of considerations for using Solidot’s remote I/O module XB6S in Bode software configuration

2025-03-24

The XB6S-PN2002 is the PROFINET coupler of Solidot’s high-reliability Slice I/O module XB6S series. During the configuration process in Bode software, improper operations can lead to communication anomalies. Below are some examples of considerations to keep in mind:

The coupler is XB6S-PN2002, while the I/O modules are XB6S-A80ID and XB6S-0032B

Scenario 1

The interface displays a “red × in the lower right corner of the blue box” symbol, as shown in the figure below.

Considerations: This error indicates that the software configuration does not correspond to the actual topology. In Figure 1, when configuring the device view, there should be no empty space when adding modules. In Figure 2, the actual topology consists of XB6S-A80ID+XB6S-0032Bbut the software configuration has erroneously added XB6S-1616B. Simply delete the excess module.

Scenario 2

The interface shows a “black ! in the lower right corner of the blue box” symbol, as shown in the figure below.

Considerations: This occurs after manually adding or deleting modules. Although the configuration matches the actual topology, an exception arises because the hardware configuration has not been downloaded. You need to re-download the configuration, and the issue will be resolved once the download is complete.

This concludes the examples of considerations for using Solidot's remote I/O module XB6S in Bode software configuration. Thank you for your attention.
