Solidot EtherCAT Slice I/O Coupler KitXB6-EC2002ST
The Solidot XB6-EC series modules are based on the widespread application of the EtherCAT protocol and, with their outstanding ease of use and high performance, are widely used in industrial automation, including food and medical, 3C, photovoltaic and semiconductor, lithium battery and hydrogen energy, and automotive industries.
When preparing to use the XB6-EC series modules, users configure them with OMRON SysMac Studio. However, the configuration often deviates from the actual installation, typically producing an "AL status error" alarm. This article details the troubleshooting method for this phenomenon.
1. Confirming alarm information
In the Omron software, click Fault Analysis. The pop-up window displays an alarm information message. As shown in the figure below, the slave alarm is "AL status error detected on the slave device".
2. Alarm Cause Analysis
When the Omron alarm information displays "AL status error detected on the slave device", the cause may be one of the following:
1. The submodule model and order configured for the coupler at the node corresponding to the alarm in the software do not match the actual installation.
2. The physical installation of the coupler at the node corresponding to the alarm in the software is non-compliant.
3. Troubleshooting
In the coupler submodule configuration window, right-click and select "Compare and merge with actual modules". The submodule information that this coupler can communicate with is then displayed, including model and order. First check whether they are consistent.
[example 1] As shown in the figure below, the message indicates that one "XB6-DS521K" is missing from the software configuration compared with the actual installation. In this case, simply click "Apply actual module configuration" to add the missing module.
[example 2] As shown in the figure below, the message indicates that the software configuration has one extra "XB6-DS521K" compared with the actual installation. There are two possible cases:
(1) Check whether an extra "XB6-DS521K" was configured in the software. If so, simply click "Apply actual module configuration" to delete the redundant module.
(2) Check whether the "XB6-DS521K" is actually installed but was not scanned. If so, check the physical installation and confirm that the "XB6-DS521K" is properly seated.
