↑ Solidot IO-Link Bus I/O Master and Slave

IO-Link bus I/O is commonly used in the automotive manufacturing industry. At present, Solidot Technology's IO-Link bus I/O has launched two product categories: master and slave. From the naming rules in the figure below, we can see that the output of the IOL7-EC01B-8A model is PNP type. When connecting a PNP type sensor, we can directly use the I/O points on the master station or connect to the IO-Link slave, such as our IO-Link slave IOL7-16CB-M12.

The communication connection diagram between the master station and the slave station is as follows:

Can a PNP master be connected to an NPN slave? The answer is yes. The principle is explained in detail as follows:

The master and slave of IO-Link are connected through the IO-Link protocol, following the IEC 61131-9 protocol standard. The slave can be either PNP or NPN. After the slave collects the digital signal, it transmits it to the master through the IO-Link protocol, so that the relevant value can be read in the process data area of the master.

Similarly, pressure sensors, laser ranging sensors, temperature and humidity sensors, etc., as long as they are slaves that support the IO-Link protocol, can be connected to our master. The sensor will process the signal internally and also put it in the process data area of IO-Link communication.

The IO-Link bus I/O of Solidot Technology is compatible with mainstream bus protocols such as EtherCAT and PROFINET, and has the characteristics of plug-in connection, diagnostic options, IP67 protection level, shock resistance, vibration resistance, etc.; it also supports configurable input and output, sends specific information to the control end and the LED of the module, and only closes the port affected by the fault in the fault state. It can effectively help industrial sites achieve rapid startup, optimal process, high connectivity, and high efficiency, and is an ideal aid in intelligent manufacturing.
